In 2015 he was granted Dharma transmission (permission to teach) by the Five Mountains school of Zen. Greg has been a student of Zen Buddhism since his early 20's, and was a resident at the Zen Center of Los Angeles for 4 years. In addition to his devotion to Wing Chun Kung Fu, Sifu LeBlanc holds a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM), is a Licensed California acupuncturist (L.Ac.), and is nationally board certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine (NCCAOM). Sifu LeBlanc has trained in various martial arts starting at the age of 13, including Japanese Jujitsu (Kodenkan Danzan Ryu), Judo, Aikido (as Soto Deshi for 4 years, and Uchi Deshi for 2 years), Scholastic wrestling, Northern styles of Kung Fu (Long Fist, Praying Mantis and double edged sword) and Filipino Martial Arts (Kadena de Mano, Decuerdas and Sinawali). Sifu LeBlanc is proud to be an honorary lifetime member of the Illawarra School of Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun. Greg is honored and grateful for the friendship and support of these great teachers. Sifu Di Virgilio is a master of Yip Man Wing Chun, the Tommy Yuen version of the Dragon Pole and the Tommy Yuen version of the Wing Chun parallel swords (in the lineages of Robert Yeung, Wong Long, Wong Chok and Yuen Yim Keung respectively ). Most recently Greg had the privilege of training with Sifu John Di Virgilio. Sifu LeBlanc has also had the honor to train with the late Sisok Gung Hawkins Cheung (direct Student of Yip Man), with Sisok John Smith (direct student of Wong Shun Leung) and with Sifu Dwight Hennings (direct student of Lawrence Leung Chee Sing). Sifu Lam granted Greg the title of Sifu in 2005, authorizing him in the complete GLWC system and granting him the right to certify his own students. Wong Shun Leung in his day was known as King of the talking hands (Gong Sau Wong). Wong Shun Leung was famous in his youth for bare-knuckle challenge fights (Beimo 比武 ), where he tested and proved the Kung Fu system taught to him by Sijo Yip Man. Sifu Lam is an early student of Sigung Wong Shun Leung and was also a competitive Muay Thai boxer. Greg LeBlanc began practicing Wing Chun (aka Ving Tsun) in 1997, training with Sifu Gary Lam (Lam Man Hog) from 1997-2005 (training with Sifu Lam 12-15 hours per week).
